The F.R.D.P. is the only fire rescue non governmental organization (N.G.O.) to be recognized by the United Nations and has been granted Roster Consultative Status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
How We Accomplish Our Mission
F.R.D.P. members are the only firefighters in the world designated as delegates to the United Nations in New York, Geneva and Vienna.
F.R.D.P. members sit in on many U.N. Committees to give the firefightersf point of view in issues dealing with Disaster Impact Reduction and Sustainable Development for Fire, Rescue, Civil Protection and Emergency Services.
F.R.D.P. acts at the request of the United Nations to assist in U.N. Peacekeeping Operations to provide solutions on how to reorganize, train and equip firefighters in areas of extreme political and economic strife, and at times, armed confrontation.
